7 Brew Coffee is giving away 20,000 free beverages to schools, hospitals, offices, churches and community events near its new drive-thru under construction at 4211 Linden Avenue in Riverside. The free drink deliveries run from Friday, October 16 through October 22, open to eligible groups located within 15 minutes of the new location.
The giveaway, reported by the Dayton Daily News, comes weeks before the stand's official debut. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Linden Avenue location is scheduled for November 9, hosted by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, according to WHIO. Arkansas-based 7 Brew already operates in Springfield, Huber Heights, Springboro and West Chester Township, with additional Ohio stands in Hamilton and Fairfield Township, per the Dayton Daily News report. The chain's menu spans specialty coffees, teas, lemonades, smoothies, shakes and energy drinks.
A Pizza Hut-Turned-Catering-Kitchen Makes Way for Coffee
The Linden Avenue parcel has its own history. The site previously housed Christopher's Restaurant & Catering and, before that, a sit-down Pizza Hut, before the building came down under a $261,750 Montgomery County demolition permit issued in July, according to the Dayton Business Journal.
In its place, 7 Brew is installing a 510-square-foot drive-thru structure and a 280-square-foot cooler building, delivered pre-fabricated on trailers and hoisted onto the foundation by crane. The Business Journal pegs the total project investment at more than $660,000. The units were built off-site and craned into place, as seen in a modular drop outside a Kirksville Walmart and most recently in California, where an old KFC gave way to a 7 Brew.
Dozens of Jobs and a Local Franchise Behind the Build
The Riverside stand is owned and operated by franchisee Brew Team Ohio LLC, which is managing 7 Brew's rapid market entry across the Miami Valley, the Business Journal reports. Once open, the location is expected to employ roughly 75 crew members earning an estimated $15 to $20 an hour including tips, the outlet notes in its September reporting.
Brew Team Ohio has a pattern of pairing new openings with community goodwill campaigns. The franchisee's August opening in nearby Sidney included a charity donation weekend that raised more than $18,000 for Dayton Children's Hospital, according to the Sidney Daily News. The free drink deliveries ahead of the Riverside opening appear to follow that same playbook of building brand awareness before a stand opens for regular business.
A Crowded Field in the Miami Valley
Riverside is just the latest stop in a fast-moving regional rollout. Since launching its first Miami Valley location in Springfield in 2024, 7 Brew has expanded across the region. WHIO reports eight other Miami Valley locations. Nationally, the chain reached 777 open locations by June and is projecting 1,000 locations by the end of the year, according to Restaurant Dive.
7 Brew's national growth is reflected in its expanding footprint. The format relies on no indoor seating, with outdoor Brewistas taking orders via mobile touchpad in dual-lane drive-thrus intended to keep cars moving quickly.
For now, eligible groups within 15 minutes of the Linden Avenue stand have a one-week window to request free 7 Brew drinks before it opens its lanes for regular business next month.
