Baltimore County rescue crews rushed to Peach Orchard Cove in Dundalk on Friday afternoon after two people fell overboard into the creek. One of them managed to swim to safety, while the adult being searched for was rescued by 7:10 p.m. in cardiac arrest and taken to a nearby hospital.
The incident happened at around 2:48 p.m., according to WBAL-TV, which reported that Baltimore County officials were conducting the rescue operation based on preliminary information. The station said rescue crews, including dive team members, remained on scene looking for a second victim after the first swam ashore unaided.
Missing Adult Rescued
Details beyond the initial response remain limited. WBAL News Radio also reported on the unfolding search, which both outlets described as a developing situation Friday afternoon. Neither the identities nor the conditions of either person involved have been released, and the circumstances that led to the fall have not been disclosed.
The vessel involved was a Carolina Skiff, and Maryland Natural Resources Police, Maryland Transportation Authority Police, and Baltimore County police and fire departments responded to Peach Orchard Cove. Officials had not released additional information at the time.
A Separate Dundalk Incident
In June 2024, a 6-year-old child drowned in a Dundalk waterway, a separate incident unrelated to Friday's search. That case offers no information about what unfolded at Peach Orchard Cove this week.
The adult being searched for was rescued by 7:10 p.m. in cardiac arrest and taken to a nearby hospital. Hoodline will update this story as more information becomes available.
