Albany started Wednesday with clear skies and a sharp 30-degree chill, but the afternoon will feel much friendlier. Temperatures are expected to climb to about 58 degrees under partly sunny skies, with light southeast winds and virtually no chance of rain.
Warmup Arrives By Afternoon
The morning will gradually brighten as temperatures rise through the 30s and 40s before reaching the upper 50s later in the day. Wednesday night stays partly cloudy, with a low near 40 and south winds around 6 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday brings the biggest warmup of the stretch, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 67. A cold front could produce a few light showers Thursday night, mainly north and west of Albany, but any rain in the Capital District should be limited.
Breezy Friday, Sunny Halloween
Friday remains mostly sunny with a high near 61, though winds will pick up behind the front. Gusts could reach 25 to 30 mph at times around the Capital District, making it a day for securing loose decorations before the weekend.
Halloween looks dry and sunny, with a high near 58 and a low around 33 Saturday night. Sunday stays mostly sunny and reaches about 61, a notably cleaner outlook than the earlier forecast covered by Hoodline, which had raised the possibility of showers later in the weekend.
Rain Chances Return Monday
The next meaningful rain chance arrives Monday, when showers could develop after 7 a.m. under partly sunny skies. The chance of precipitation is around 30%, with a high near 62, and scattered showers may linger into Monday night and Tuesday.
