Allentown-area residents are waking to a cloudy, foggy Thursday, but the gray start is on borrowed time: the afternoon should turn mostly sunny and reach about 71 degrees. The bigger shift arrives after Friday, when a cooler Halloween weekend settles in.
Fog Burns Off Before A Warm Afternoon
Areas of fog are expected through about 10 a.m. Thursday, with visibility improving as temperatures climb from the mid-40s. Winds will be mostly calm early, then southwest at 5–10 knots, and the rain chance is near zero. The National Weather Service forecasts partly to mostly sunny skies for the rest of the day.
Friday Brings Sun And Stronger Wind
Friday should be sunny with a high near 70, but a dry cold front will make it breezier, with northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts reaching 25 mph. Friday night will drop to about 38 degrees under mostly clear skies. That is the first real reminder that late October is still late October.
Halloween Looks Dry And Cooler
Halloween on Saturday looks partly cloudy with a high near 62, followed by a low near 37. Sunday should reach about 65 under partly to mostly cloudy skies, while Monday and Tuesday are expected to stay mild and dry. A few showers cannot be ruled out midweek.
For outdoor plans, the practical forecast is simple: expect fog on the early commute Thursday, plenty of sunshine later, and layers for Friday night through Halloween. The current outlook lists no watches, warnings or advisories for Pennsylvania.
