A drive-thru-only coffee shop is taking shape at the southwest corner of Clovis and Shaw avenues, wedged into an empty parking lot between McDonald's and El Pollo Loco. The chain behind it, 7 Brew Drive Thru Coffee, is based in Arkansas and could be opening one of its very first California locations right here in Clovis.
The 910-square-foot building will skip indoor dining altogether, with outdoor seating instead, according to the Fresno Bee. What it lacks in dining room, it makes up for in car capacity: a double drive-thru lane designed to hold up to 13 vehicles at once, per the same report. There's no indoor seating planned at all, a format that fits squarely with how the chain already does business elsewhere.
No Dining Room, Just a Lot of Cars
That drive-thru-and-walk-up model is central to 7 Brew's identity nationwide. According to CNN, the chain operates through drive-thrus and walk-up windows rather than traditional indoor dining spaces, leaning on speed and customization instead of a place to sit and sip. The Fresno Bee's report notes the concept closely resembles Dutch Bros' business model, right down to employees who take orders and deliver drinks by walking out to customers' cars.
7 Brew did not immediately return messages asking when the Clovis shop would open, the Bee reported, so there's no confirmed timeline yet for when Clovis drivers can actually pull up and order. If the construction process mirrors a similar project in Visalia, a small prefabricated building could be lifted into place by crane rather than built from the ground up on site.
How Visalia's Build Went Down
That Visalia comparison isn't hypothetical speculation — it already happened a county over. The first 7 Brew location in Visalia is rising at 3627 S. Mooney Blvd., the former site of the Cask 'n Cleaver steakhouse, according to USA Today. That 875-square-foot building, plus an 800-square-foot canopy, was manufactured by Russo Modular in Phoenix and driven 550 miles before crews put it in place on Sept. 3, the outlet reported.
7 Brew isn't stopping at the Central Valley, either. The company has also submitted a design review application in Roseville for a 911-square-foot, two-lane drive-through stand at 10201 Fairway Drive, next to Trader Joe's and Lowe's, according to the Sacramento Bee. That Roseville site sits about half a mile from a Dutch Bros and roughly a quarter-mile from a Starbucks, placing the newcomer right in the thick of established competition.
From Seven Drinks to Thousands of Combinations
7 Brew's menu has grown considerably since it opened its first location in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017. The chain now offers more than 20,000 drink combinations and generally doesn't charge extra for most customizations, per CNN's reporting. That explosion in options traces back to humble beginnings — the company started with just seven original drinks before expanding into its current sprawling menu, according to GV Wire.
The chain's most popular drink is the Blondie, made with espresso, half-and-half, vanilla and caramel syrup, the Fresno Bee reported. It can be served hot, iced, or as a frozen chiller — and that frozen version can pack up to 760 calories. Beyond espresso drinks, 7 Brew also serves milkshakes in flavors like orange sherbet, salted caramel and rocky road.
A Chain Scaling Up Fast
The growth numbers behind 7 Brew vary depending on when they were counted. GV Wire reported the chain had surpassed 600 locations by December 2025, while CNN's more recent report put the total at over 700 locations across 38 states as of May, with roughly 340 more on the way. The Fresno Bee, meanwhile, cited more than 900 locations in 38 states. Whichever count is most current, CNN reports the company is aiming to operate more than 1,000 drive-thru stands within a year.
Sales have kept pace with that expansion. According to CNN, 7 Brew's revenue jumped from $502 million in 2024 to nearly $1.2 billion last year. For Clovis residents, the more immediate question is simpler: how soon the crews working the corner of Clovis and Shaw will have cars lined up for a Blondie.
