Why an Infant Changes the Calculus
A 4-month-old is inside the home.
Texas law also looms over the man's situation. Under Texas Penal Code § 22.041, intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly placing a child under 15 in imminent danger of bodily injury or death constitutes child endangerment.
Other Area SWAT Activity
Two days earlier, HPD SWAT surrounded a Southeast Houston home after a man was shot in the stomach in a garage.
As of the sheriff's advisory, the man inside the Princess Garden Way home had not come out, and the fate of the infant, the identity of the suspect, and what led to the standoff all remained unknown. The Sheriff's Office reminded residents that its social media account is not monitored around the clock, directing anyone with an emergency to call 911.
