The sprawling Westchester County estate that stood in for the Crawford family's secluded Vermont home in the film adaptation of Verity is opening its grounds this month for something far less sinister: a one-day yoga and wellness retreat. Beckoning Path, an 8,000-square-foot mid-century residence on 27 lakefront acres in Armonk, is hosting Present Wisdom's Inner Renewal Fall Yoga & Wellness One Day Retreat on October 24, 2026.

Beckoning Path portrays the Crawford family home in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Verity, according to Time Out. In the story, Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson, arrives at the secluded Vermont estate for a ghostwriting assignment, where she crosses paths with Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway, and Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett. Per Architectural Digest, Beckoning Path serves as that secluded Vermont estate, even though the real house sits in Westchester County, New York, not Vermont at all.

The home was designed in the 1960s by Jens Quistgaard, who was chief designer of the Scandinavian homeware brand Dansk, and was commissioned by Martha and Ted Nierenberg, according to Architectural Digest. The property features a pointed copper roof, towering timber frames and sweeping glass walls, and today it functions as a private wellness retreat in Armonk. Designboom notes that the restoration, carried out by architecture firm BarlisWedlick, preserved Scandinavian touches including wood imported from Denmark, vaulted ceilings and expansive glass walls alongside that distinctive copper roof.

Behind the Scenes of Verity's Filming

Verity filming locations included Beckoning Path and its grounds, but the production didn't rely on the real house for everything. The crew used the real kitchen and several rooms at the estate, while other spaces, like the office, were recreated on a soundstage, according to Condé Nast Traveler, which also notes the property contains a swimming pool and a tai chi studio.

Some bedrooms, hallways and Verity's office were ultimately built out on a Queens soundstage instead, since parts of the actual house proved too cramped for a film crew. Production designer Amy Williams explained the decision to motionpictures.org, saying, “The bedrooms were very simple and very small, and we couldn't film in them, so we had to go big and wild on the stages.”

What the October Retreat Includes

Present Wisdom hosts the day retreat at Beckoning Path on October 24, 2026, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with arrival and welcome set for 8:45 a.m. The program includes yoga, forest bathing, Qigong and sound healing, built around journaling, participant connection and labyrinth walking.

The schedule features gentle yoga, breathwork and guided meditation led by Alka Kaminer, along with forest bathing and Qigong sessions led by Brian. Meg Pressman leads a quartz crystal sound healing session, and the day includes a plant-based autumn lunch of warming soup and garden salad prepared by Ann Tedesco.

The retreat is limited to 18 participants. Regular admission is priced at $299, though Present Wisdom is offering the event for $250 to those who use the discount code RETREAT26 before October 10, 2026. Organizers say the exact Armonk address will be provided to registered participants before the event. Attendees are asked to bring their own yoga mat and may also bring a journal for the day's reflective exercises.
