Austin Police are asking the public for help tracking down a 44-year-old woman wanted on a warrant for evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle. Bodesha Marie Garner stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 221 pounds, according to a wanted notice circulated this week, and anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to come forward.
The request went out as part of the department's recurring #WantedWednesday campaign. “In today's #WantedWednesday, we request the public's help in locating Bodesha Marie Garner,” the Austin Police Department
said in a post describing her outstanding warrant. The post, shared in both English and Spanish, directed anyone with information to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Details of the Outstanding Warrant
According to Capital Area Crime Stoppers, Garner's warrant is listed under number D1DC26303517 and stems from an allegation of evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle. The bulletin lists her age, height, and weight, but does not provide any additional detail about where she might currently be or the specifics of the underlying incident.
Crime Stoppers' wanted notice states that tipsters remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Garner's arrest. The same notice was also distributed in Spanish as part of the organization's weekly “Prófugo de la Semana” feature, mirroring the English-language #WantedWednesday post.
How to Submit a Tip
People with information about Garner's location may submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at www.austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-TIPS (8477). Tips can be submitted without providing any identifying information, per the organization's standard anonymous-reporting process.
As of the most recent public update, it remains unclear whether the warrant has been served or whether Garner has been located. The Austin Police Department has not released further information beyond the original wanted notice.
