Aziz Ansari takes the stage at Hard Rock Live in Orlando at 7 p.m. on October 11, bringing his Hypothetical Tour to Orlando for a night of new material ahead of a later Netflix special taping. Tickets range from $76.30 to $214.80, and the show caps a three-night Florida run that also stopped in Hollywood and Tampa before the tour heads north.
The Orlando date is the final Florida stop before the tour moves on, according to Orlando Weekly. The Florida swing itself threaded through Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on Oct. 9 and the Straz Center's Ferguson Hall in Tampa on Oct. 10, according to NYS Music, before landing in Orlando to close out the state leg. Ansari announced the 10-city fall extension of the Hypothetical Tour, which kicks off October 7 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and runs through an October 22 show in Washington, D.C.
New material on the bill reportedly covers AI, subway etiquette, aging parents and infertility, per the same Orlando Weekly report. Ansari, known for co-creating, writing, directing and starring in the Netflix series Master of None and for his role on Parks and Recreation, has spent years balancing stand-up with screen work. He told the Los Angeles Times in October that he has been doing stand-up for 25 years and considers the Hypothetical Tour material his best work yet.
A Taping That Will Become His Seventh Netflix Special
Ansari plans to tape the show later this month, and the resulting special will become his seventh stand-up release for Netflix, the streamer he has partnered with since 2013's Buried Alive — among the platform's earliest exclusive original stand-up specials, according to Tubefilter. His prior stand-up output includes Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening in 2010, Dangerously Delicious in 2012, Live at Madison Square Garden in 2015, Right Now in 2019 — directed by Spike Jonze, per JustWatch — and Nightclub Comedian in 2022.
Beyond stand-up, Ansari made his feature directorial debut last October with Good Fortune, an ensemble comedy for Lionsgate starring Seth Rogen, Keanu Reeves and Keke Palmer alongside Ansari himself. He also appeared alongside Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle and Pete Davidson at Madison Square Garden last month for the NYC Still Rising After 25 Years 9/11 charities comedy benefit, marking the attack's 25th anniversary, ahead of launching his October tour dates.
