Bakersfield police are asking the public to help identify a man accused of hurling a rock through the window of a downtown law office, shattering the glass before riding off on a bicycle. Investigators say the vandalism happened at Rodriguez & Associates, located at 1128 Truxtun Ave., and was captured on surveillance video.
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man who allegedly vandalized the law office, according to KGET 17 News. On Sept. 7, the suspect was reportedly seen on video surveillance footage throwing a rock at the window of the law firm, according to the outlet. The impact caused the window to shatter, police said.
What Investigators Know About the Suspect
Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20s with a slim build, black hair and a mustache, per the station's report. He was wearing a black baseball hat, black T-shirt, black shorts and black shoes, and he had a bicycle with him at the scene, the same account notes. No arrest or identification has been announced in connection with the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective E. Hardin with the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-326-3919.
A Similar Case Earlier This Year
This is not the only rock-through-glass vandalism report to hit the Truxtun Avenue corridor this year. Bakersfield police said that on April 23, a suspect allegedly threw a rock through a business's front glass door in the 900 block of Truxtun Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. before running away from the area, according to BakersfieldNow. That suspect was described as a man wearing a do-rag, gray sweater, navy blue shorts and white tennis shoes, a description that does not match the clothing reported in the law office case.
Detectives handling that earlier incident asked anyone with information to contact Detective J. Orozco at 661-326-3809 or the Bakersfield Police Department's main line at 661-327-7111. It remains unclear whether the two cases are connected, and no evidence has linked the incidents beyond their shared location along Truxtun Avenue.
