First Fatal Motorcycle Crash Tied to Schroeppel This Year
Friday's crash was the first fatal motorcycle crash connected to the Town of Schroeppel in 2026.
Statewide, motorcycle fatalities have trended downward, according to preliminary figures from the University at Albany's Institute for Traffic Safety Management & Research cited by the New York State DMV. The number of fatalities in motorcycle crashes statewide dropped from 157 in 2024 to 134 in 2025.
