The Ballston storefront that spent almost two decades pouring wine as Grand Cru Wine Bar and Bistro is being transformed into a wellness destination, with cold plunge, cryotherapy and infrared sauna among its planned offerings. Evexia Bio Studio is planning to open at 4301 Wilson Blvd in January 2027, bringing private-suite recovery treatments to the space alongside a second business, Evexia Medspa.
According to ARLnow, the medspa will be the company's second location and is expected to open around the same time as the bio studio. The two businesses will share the Ballston space, with the studio providing its services in separate private suites rather than the open, shared layouts common at many recovery centers. A company release distributed via PRWeb similarly states that Evexia Bio Studio will open in Arlington, Virginia, in January 2027.
The reported timeline has shifted over the past year. An earlier ARLnow report from December described the business as eyeing a spring opening date, while the more recent reporting and the company's own materials point to January 2027 instead. Evexia has been preparing to expand into Ballston since late 2025, the outlet's report notes, following its existing footprint in McLean, where the station reports the wellness business already operates another medical spa.
What's Inside the Private Suites
Evexia Bio Studio's offerings include cold plunge, cryotherapy, contrast therapy, infrared sauna, halotherapy and red light therapy, per the same ARLnow account. Treatments are organized around two areas of focus: recovery and performance, and cellular health and longevity. The recovery and performance category is designed to support circulation, physical recovery and readiness, while the cellular health and longevity category focuses on supporting cellular vitality, respiratory wellness and long-term restoration.
Noah Abraham, who founded Evexia Bio Studio and also leads Evexia Medspa, framed the business around accessibility and privacy. “Recovery, performance, and longevity should be part of your weekly routine, not something you have to travel for,” Abraham said, according to ARLnow. He added: “And it should feel private and elevated, not shared with a room full of strangers.”
A Medspa Moves In Next Door
The medspa half of the business will lean into more clinical cosmetic services. Evexia Medspa advertises treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, body contouring and laser skin treatments, the outlet reports. That mirrors the services already offered at Evexia's existing McLean location at 1420 Beverly Rd, Suite 380, according to Evexia Medspa's website.
Evexia's own marketing has not been entirely consistent with the January 2027 timeline. The Evexia Bio Studio website currently promotes founders memberships launching soon, with early-access and exclusive founding rates, while a separate page on Evexia Medspa's site states that the company recently opened Evexia Bio Studio as its new recovery wellness center in the Arlington area. The discrepancy between that language and the January 2027 opening date reported elsewhere was not resolved in the available materials.
Membership Tiers Teased
The PRWeb release also describes a three-tier membership structure for the new studio, built around REVIVE, described as the most comprehensive access option; RENEW, a balanced recovery and consistency plan; and RECOVER. No pricing details for those tiers were included in the materials reviewed.
For now, the storefront at 4301 Wilson Blvd sits in transition, shedding its identity as one of Ballston's longest-running wine bars for a new chapter built around ice baths and infrared heat. Whether the January 2027 target holds remains to be seen, but the buildout marks a notable shift for a stretch of Wilson Boulevard that spent nearly twenty years defined by Grand Cru's wine list rather than wellness menus.
