Baltimore's weather whiplash continues Saturday, with early rain showers giving way to a cold, windy afternoon and a high near 56. The rain should clear out quickly, but the chilly air is sticking around through the weekend.
Showers are most likely before 8 a.m. Saturday, October 17, with rainfall totals expected to stay below a tenth of an inch. Gusty northwest winds of 20 to 30 knots will make the day feel colder than the thermometer suggests, according to the National Weather Service.
Afternoon Sunshine Arrives After A Wet Start
Clouds will break through the afternoon as Baltimore turns partly sunny, with temperatures hovering in the mid-50s. Saturday night should be mostly clear, but the low near 40 will bring the weekend's sharpest chill; colder inland areas west and north of the city face the greatest frost and freeze concerns.
Sunday Brings A Much Better Outdoor Forecast
Sunday, October 18, looks like the weekend's easy winner, with sunny skies, a high near 60 and a lighter northeast breeze. Monday stays mostly sunny near 64, while Tuesday could reach 69 under similar dry conditions.
Mostly Sunny Week With A Coastal Storm Wild Card
Wednesday through Friday should remain mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-to-upper 60s and chilly overnight lows in the upper 40s. Rain chances remain low in the city, but the National Weather Service says a developing coastal storm could bring occasional showers next week, especially east of Interstate 95, if the system tracks farther west than expected.
The updated outlook is a meaningful shift from Hoodline's earlier forecast: Saturday's rain is now concentrated in the morning, the afternoon turns sunnier, and Baltimore's weekend cooldown is arriving right on schedule.
