A Beltsville man is behind bars after Prince George’s County deputies say investigators uncovered child pornography at his residence. Martavious Rodgers was arrested on October 14 and now faces a charge of possession of child pornography stemming from a Maryland State Police investigation.
According to the Prince George's County, Office Of The Sheriff, deputies located Rodgers in Beltsville and took him into custody without incident. The sheriff's office said he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro following the arrest.
What Deputies Allege Happened
Investigators allegedly discovered child pornography at Rodgers’ residence, according to the same account from the sheriff's office. The office said the charge against Rodgers stems from an investigation led by the Maryland State Police, though the specific statutory charge, count number, and jurisdictional court have not been independently verified.
Details about the underlying investigation remain limited. The sheriff's office post describing the arrest was not fully accessible for independent review at the time of this report, and no court docket, bond amount, court date, or attorney information was available to confirm the case’s current status.
A Separate Case From Last Year
The arrest echoes, but is not confirmed to be connected to, a separate case from last year. A news release from the Maryland State Police dated May 30, 2025, described the arrest of Edwin Antonio Valdez Olivar, 41, of Beltsville, Maryland, on charges related to the production, possession and viewing of child pornography. The available evidence does not establish that the 2025 case involved Rodgers or is otherwise related to his arrest.
Maryland law governing these cases includes provisions found in the Maryland General Assembly's statute text, which addresses court review of items believed to violate related sections of the criminal law and the removal of such material by interactive computer service providers. Members of the public can track court proceedings through the Maryland Judiciary Case Search portal, which provides public access to case records under the Maryland Rules on Access to Court Records.
No further updates on Rodgers’ case have been released publicly. Hoodline will update this story if additional details about the charge or case proceedings become available.
