Birmingham starts Friday with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the mid-50s, but the afternoon will feel more like late summer than late October. Sunshine should push the thermometer to about 79 degrees, giving residents a comfortable window before Halloween weekend turns wetter.
Sunny Friday Gives Halloween Plans A Break
Friday will stay mostly sunny with light east winds and no rain expected. The National Weather Service in Birmingham says clouds will increase Friday night, with a low near 61 degrees.
Halloween Rain Looks More Like A Late-Night Problem
Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 76 and only a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. Rain chances rise Saturday night, when showers are likely and east winds increase to 10 to 15 mph, but the latest forecast discussion says much of the activity may hold off until after midnight.
That leaves trick-or-treaters with a potentially workable window, though umbrellas and rain jackets should remain close by. Sunday brings a cooler, cloudier finish to the weekend, with a high near 67 and a 50% chance of showers; no watches, warnings or advisories are posted.
Dry Monday Before Midweek Storm Chances
Conditions should dry out Monday, which is forecast to be partly sunny with a high near 74. Tuesday stays mostly sunny and warm near 77, with a slight chance of showers after noon.
The next bigger weather turn arrives Wednesday, when showers and thunderstorms are likely and rain chances reach 60%. Thursday should bring partly sunny skies and a quieter 73-degree afternoon, with only a slight chance of showers.
