Tacos, live music and a good cause are heading to Cahaba Brewing Company this Thursday, Oct. 15, when Trinity Counseling hosts its 14th annual Tacos for Trinity fundraiser. The evening runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:45 p.m., and brings together food, auctions and a personal story meant to raise both money and awareness for mental health needs across greater Birmingham.
According to Vestavia Voice, the event will feature tacos from Taco Mama along with live music from Birmingham old-time string band The Whistlebees. Organizers have also lined up both live and silent auctions, with items donated by Birmingham businesses and supporters. Tickets cost $50 per person, children are welcome, and tickets are available through Eventbrite.
Cahaba Brewing Company, at 4500 Fifth Ave. South, Building C, in Birmingham, will host this year's event. Part of the evening will include a speaker sharing her own experience with Trinity's ministry, according to Trinity Counseling, giving attendees a firsthand look at what the organization's services mean to the people who use them.
Where the Money Goes
Proceeds from Tacos for Trinity will help Trinity Counseling continue providing affordable, professional and compassionate counseling services to people in the community, the fundraiser's organizers say. On its website, Trinity Counseling describes its mission as making evidence-based counseling affordable and accessible to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay. The organization says charitable donations like those raised at Thursday's event help ensure that no one is turned away because of financial hardship.
Trinity Counseling also describes its approach as merging established, evidence-based counseling methods with Christian principles, a blend the group says shapes how it serves clients across the Birmingham area. That mission has translated into a sizable volume of care: Trinity Counseling reports serving more than 1,500 clients in 2025 alone and providing more than $255,000 in sliding-scale and pro bono services during that year, per the organization's news and events page.
Supporting Affordable Care
Fundraisers like Tacos for Trinity support Trinity Counseling's affordable counseling services.
For now, the 14th annual edition of Tacos for Trinity is set to bring Birmingham residents together over tacos and music for a cause organizers hope will keep growing alongside the need it serves. With tickets still available on Eventbrite ahead of Thursday evening, the event remains open to anyone looking to support affordable mental health care in the Birmingham area.
