Bojangles is gearing up to reopen its restaurant at 7571 SW Crain Hwy in Upper Marlboro on Nov. 2, bringing the Southern fried chicken and biscuit chain back to a familiar Prince George's County address under new ownership and management.

According to The MoCo Show, the location is hiring employees over the two weeks after Oct. 8, followed by two weeks of employee training—a schedule that extends beyond the Nov. 2 reopening date. Hiring hours are listed as Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm, per the same report.

The Upper Marlboro restaurant's address is 7571 SW Crain Hwy, according to Bojangles's own location page, which notes the site offers online ordering through Bojangles.com or the company's app.

A Southern Staple Since 1977

Bojangles describes itself on its website as having served up real deal Southern flavor since 1977, and the company is widely known for its fried chicken and biscuits. The chain was started in Charlotte, North Carolina, that same year, according to CBS Baltimore.

Bojangles returned to Maryland in September 2024, per the MoCo Show's report, when the chain opened a restaurant at 1312 W. Patrick St. in Frederick. The Frederick News-Post reported at the time that the chain's first Frederick-area store opened on Sept. 9, bringing fried chicken, biscuits and other Southern staples to that Golden Mile location.

Regional Growth Beyond One Storefront

The Upper Marlboro reopening comes amid broader expansion plans for Bojangles in the state. Frederick-based Matharu Foods has committed to opening five Bojangles locations throughout the Baltimore region over the next five years, CBS Baltimore reported. At the time of that report, five existing Maryland locations were identified in Hillcrest Heights, New Carrollton, Upper Marlboro, Landover and Oxon Hill.

For Prince George's County residents, the Nov. 2 date marks the latest chapter for a restaurant chain that returned to Maryland in 2024. Those interested in job openings ahead of the reopening can find application details through the location's page on Bojangles' website.
