Dayton International Airport is finally shaking off its pandemic-era slump, and Breeze Airways is leading the charge with four new routes launching this fall. Nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale is scheduled to begin October 9, with nonstop Fort Myers and Raleigh-Durham service following; Sarasota-Bradenton will be served via one-stop, no-change-of-plane BreezeThru service. The new routes bring a fresh set of flight options to Dayton.

Breeze's Fort Lauderdale service is scheduled to launch nonstop on Mondays and Fridays starting October 9, according to JobsOhio, the state's economic development arm that helped bring the airline to Dayton. Fort Myers nonstop service follows on Mondays and Fridays beginning October 23. Both routes are part of Breeze's Dayton expansion.

Raleigh-Durham nonstop service and Sarasota-Bradenton's one-stop, no-change-of-plane BreezeThru service are both set to begin on Mondays and Fridays, starting November 6, according to JobsOhio.

Personal-Item and Fare Details

A personal item must be no larger than 17 by 13 by 8 inches. Breeze also cautions that advertised fares may no longer be available by the time travelers try to book.

Dayton becomes Breeze's fourth Ohio airport, joining the airline's existing service in Columbus and Akron-Canton. The carrier operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes to 91 cities across the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, according to JobsOhio. Breeze is a lower-cost airline founded by David Neeleman that took flight in May 2021.

A Boost for Dayton International Airport

The new routes restore capacity lost during the pandemic, according to JobsOhio.

There are signs the airport's fortunes are already turning. Dayton International Airport logged more than 11,000 additional departing passengers in 2025 compared with 2024, a 1.7% increase, according to Spectrum News 1. The airport expects that momentum to continue into 2026, with three of its four airline carriers reporting growth, per the same report. JobsOhio said it has helped incentivize 26 new Breeze routes across Ohio since the airline began working with the state's airports in 2021.

Dayton International Airport currently hosts four airlines serving 16 nonstop destinations, according to the airport's own statistics. With Breeze's new Florida and North Carolina routes scheduled to begin, local travelers have a fresh set of low-cost options heading into the winter travel season.
