The bigger weather story is a weekend warm-up that could push temperatures close to 80.
A Small Shower Chance Arrives Friday
A shower is possible in places Friday afternoon. A rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out, but the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan says severe weather is not expected.
Saturday Looks Like The Weekend Favorite
Saturday should be mostly sunny and unusually warm for October, with a high near 79 and south winds of 10 to 15 mph. Areas closer to Lake Michigan could be a little cooler if a lake breeze develops, while inland neighborhoods may flirt with 80 degrees. Saturday night turns mostly cloudy, with a low around 57.
Sunday Stays Pleasant Before The Pattern Shifts
Sunday brings another mostly sunny day, though cooler than Saturday, with a high near 68 and light southeast winds. Columbus Day remains mild Monday, reaching around 77 under partly sunny skies. The first more meaningful rain chance arrives Monday night, when showers and thunderstorms are possible after 7 p.m.
Thunderstorms Possible Late Wednesday And Early Thursday
Tuesday starts with a chance of showers or thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then turns mostly sunny with a high near 64. Thunderstorms are possible late Wednesday night and early Thursday.
Lake Michigan Winds Pick Up
Boaters should also watch Lake Michigan conditions as southerly winds strengthen from Friday night through Sunday morning. A Small Craft Advisory is posted for portions of the nearshore waters beginning early Saturday and continuing into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
