A 39-year-old man was bludgeoned with a glass bottle and then punched and kicked outside a Bronx deli earlier this month, leaving him with facial and neck lacerations as police continue searching for his attacker, according to amNewYork. The assault happened around 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 outside El Siri Deli at 896 Home St. in Crotona Park East, according to police sources.
The victim had been on his cellphone and was about to walk into the deli when he got into an argument with the suspect, according to amNewYork. Police do not believe the two men knew each other before the confrontation turned violent. During the dispute, the suspect allegedly pulled a glass bottle he had been carrying in a brown paper bag and smashed it across the victim's face before punching and kicking him.
The victim suffered lacerations to his face and neck and was rushed to Lincoln Hospital for treatment, where he was listed in stable condition. Officers from the 42nd Precinct responded to the scene after the attack. The suspect fled on foot eastbound along Home Street and remains at large as of publication, per the same account.
