The 2026 Power Women of the Bronx celebration will bring honorees from real estate, nonprofit leadership, business and community service to Villa Barone Manor. The annual event recognizes women whose work has contributed to the borough across fields including healthcare, law, finance and education.
Schneps Media, publisher of the Bronx Times and amNY, presents the event. Its event listing gives the venue address as 737 Throgs Neck Expressway in the Bronx and describes the gathering as an opportunity for women from across the borough to connect and collaborate.
According to Schneps Media's event page, the evening is scheduled to begin with a VIP Power Hour for honorees, followed by networking, food and drinks, and an awards presentation. Tickets are available through SchnepsEvents.com, and nominations are accepted for future Power Women events.
Icons, Risings and DEI Honors on the Docket
The program has several recognition tiers. Power Women ICONs are past honorees who continue to distinguish themselves as leaders, while Power Women RISINGs recognize women advancing in their careers. The 2026 event page also lists the Latin Impact Awards, Caribbean Impact Awards and Gay City News Impact Awards among its DEI honors, according to Schneps Media.
Organizers frame the event as recognition of women advancing their fields and contributing to their communities. Schneps Media's event page says all raffle proceeds will benefit a local cause.
Part of a Borough-Wide Tradition
The Bronx gala is part of Schneps Media's series of events recognizing women and leaders across New York. The Bronx Times reported that hundreds of colleagues, friends and family gathered at Villa Barone Manor on Nov. 19, 2025, to honor women from business, nonprofit organizations and government.
At that 2025 event, Bronx Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Sorin pointed to a New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli study that found a 30% increase in entrepreneurship in the South Bronx, framing the honorees' work within a broader economic shift. Jacqueline Diaz, an assistant building manager at One Fordham Plaza, told the paper that women are becoming engineers and architects, noting the growing presence of women in professions long dominated by men.
A Historical Measure of Women-Owned Firms
For context on women’s business ownership in the borough, the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2012 Survey of Business Owners found that women owned 50.6 percent of firms in Bronx County—68,705 of 135,782—and that this was the highest share among the 50 most populous counties. This is a historical figure for firms overall, not a current estimate or a separate count limited to employer businesses, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The Power Women franchise has taken multiple forms over the years, from an in-person gathering at Villa Barone Manor to a virtual ceremony celebrating leadership across the Bronx's political, business, cultural and healthcare sectors. In one earlier iteration, Schneps Media and the Bronx Times Reporter honored 23 community leaders at a Bronx Power Women in Business Awards Ceremony held on a Tuesday, June 18, at Maestro's Caterers. Each version has carried the same throughline: spotlighting Bronx women whose leadership, service and community impact might otherwise go unsung.
