Another 73rd Precinct Robbery Just Days Earlier
This isn't the only recent robbery reported within the 73rd Precinct. A week earlier, on September 14 at approximately 3:28 p.m., a suspect robbed a commercial establishment at 130 New Lots Avenue, according to a separate Hoodline report. In that case, the suspect took merchandise without paying and maced a 30-year-old man who tried to intervene before fleeing with the stolen goods.
The two incidents occurred in the same precinct within a week of each other, though nothing in the available evidence ties them together as a connected series. Years earlier, in July 2021, a robbery suspect was reported to have beaten a 68-year-old man on a Brooklyn sidewalk near Pitkin Avenue and Barbey Street, according to PIX11. Police said that suspect approached the victim while riding a Citi Bike, demanded his property, and punched and kicked him before stealing his cellphone and a silver necklace and fleeing down Pitkin Avenue.
For now, the man wanted in the NY Star Beauty Supply robbery remains unidentified, and NYPD Crime Stoppers is relying on the public for leads.
