A new Bubba's 33 is gearing up to open along U.S. Highway 69 near Target in Beaumont on Dec. 7, and the restaurant is in the middle of a hiring push for about 200 employees to staff it. The sports bar and grill chain has already pulled in more than 300 job applications and filled roughly 50 positions, with openings still available for servers, bartenders, hosts, server assistants, prep cooks and line cooks.

According to 12News Now, Bubba's 33 opened its hiring process about three weeks before the outlet's report, and local managing partner Brittany Hollmann said the restaurant is offering both full-time and part-time opportunities. Hollmann, who has been part of the local community for 14 years, said the restaurant also offers flexible scheduling for people juggling work with school, family responsibilities or another job. Applicants can find open positions at bubbas33.com/careers.

Mayor Sees Momentum Along a Busy Corridor

Beaumont Mayor Roy West said the restaurant's investment reflects a local economy that is doing pretty well, and that the new site will create 200 new jobs. He added that he's encouraged by the company's investment in Beaumont and by the opportunities it could create for local residents, per the station's report.

West also pointed to a broader ripple effect, saying new businesses can encourage additional development nearby, particularly along busy commercial corridors. His framing was simple, per the same account: new business spurs new business.

How the Numbers Stack Up Locally

The hiring push comes as the Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area's unemployment rate fell from 5.9% to 5.3%, according to the same regional labor figures cited in the report. That rate still runs above the 4.3% statewide figure for Texas, the report notes, leaving the region with ground to make up even as local job postings tick upward.

Beaumont has seen restaurant chains promise sizable hiring numbers before. Back in September 2022, a Texas Roadhouse under construction at 6165 Eastex Freeway was expected to hire 225 to 250 people, and the company's release said the restaurant would employ a staff of 225, 12News Now reported at the time.

The newest addition to Beaumont's dining scene has hiring underway, with about 150 of its 200 positions still unfilled.
