Buffalo is heading into a wet and blustery Friday, with rain and gusty winds before the weekend. The city could see close to a half-inch of rain.
Friday’s Rain Arrives Before The Morning Commute
Rain is expected early Friday, continuing through the afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service in Buffalo forecasts isolated storms in the morning and scattered storms from late morning through early afternoon in parts of the region.
Winds will veer from south-southwest to west and northwest, with gusts reaching 40 mph. That combination could make for a messy commute, slippery roads and difficult conditions for anyone with Friday outdoor plans.
Friday Night Brings A Sudden Chill
Periods of light rain may continue through Friday afternoon and evening, then skies will remain cloudy as temperatures drop to around 38 degrees. The colder air could bring a few wet snowflakes late Friday night or early Saturday in higher elevations, but no accumulation is expected in Buffalo.
Saturday Cold, Then A Sunny Turn
Saturday will be cold, with mostly sunny skies but a high near 48 degrees. Saturday night will be cold, with temperatures falling into the lower 30s on the lake plains, including Buffalo, and frost possible in colder areas outside the city.
Dry And Warmer Weather Returns Sunday
Sunday starts the rebound, with sunshine and a high near 60 degrees. The forecast stays dry and mostly sunny through Thursday, with highs in the mid-60s expected Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
