A Cabot man initially arrested on 20 counts tied to child sexual abuse material now faces more than 200 charges after police said further review of his seized electronic devices turned up additional evidence, including video voyeurism recordings. Mark Czerwonka was taken into custody by the Cabot Police Department following a search of a Talladega Drive residence, and investigators say the case began weeks earlier with a tip about images uploaded online.

A Cyber Tip Sets the Investigation in Motion

According to katv.com, police first received a cyber tip from the Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on Sept. 24 about the uploading of images involving apparent child sexual abuse material. Investigators determined the alleged offenses occurred inside the Cabot city limits, as reported by arkansasradio.com. That tip ultimately led police to a residence on Talladega Drive, where they executed a search warrant on Oct. 21.

During that search, police seized several electronic devices and conducted an on-site review that turned up 20 suspected images of child sexual abuse material, the station's report states. Czerwonka was arrested and charged with 20 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, per the same account. He was later released from the Lonoke County Detention Center on bond following that initial arrest, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Further Device Processing Adds Nearly 190 Charges

The case escalated quickly. Police said they processed the electronic devices further on Oct. 22, the day after the initial search, and found videos that constituted video voyeurism. That discovery led to a second search warrant at the same Talladega Drive home, the article notes, and an affidavit charging Czerwonka with 187 counts of video voyeurism and three counts of producing, directing or promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Czerwonka was taken back into custody after the second warrant was executed, reversing his earlier release on bond. Combined with the original 20 counts, the total now exceeds 200 charges, a jump that happened in the span of a single day as investigators worked through the seized devices.

Investigation Remains Open

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing and could result in more charges against Czerwonka, per the same katv.com account. No further detail has been released on what additional evidence, if any, investigators are still reviewing.

The case arrives amid broader concern from state authorities about online child exploitation. The Arkansas Department of Public Safety has said the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has seen dramatic increases in reports of online exploitation involving Arkansas youth, according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety. In a separate release, the department reported that a 2024 special operation targeting crimes against children produced 42 arrests, including nine for hands-on offenses, and involved 178 search warrants, per the Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
