Niagara Bottling has officially opened its first Kentucky facility, a production and distribution plant in Elsmere that the company says reflects its confidence in the region. Leaders and public officials gathered to cut the ribbon on the sprawling site, which spans more than 436,000 square feet and is expected to create 60 new jobs.

The grand opening was celebrated as a $141 million production facility, according to NKyTribune. That figure stands in contrast to earlier project materials, which described Niagara as investing $129.8 million to establish the manufacturing facility, as reported by Manufacturing Dive. Neither figure has been reconciled publicly, and both are presented here as reported by their respective sources. Separately, the Cincinnati Business Courier reported that the project's final investment exceeded its initial forecast by nearly 24 percent.

The facility's footprint is similarly described with slightly varying figures: the Northern Kentucky Port Authority lists the new facility as including 436,800 square feet of advanced manufacturing space, while the grand-opening report describes it as over 436,000 square feet of space dedicated to beverage production and distribution operations. The site sits on 52 acres at the C5 Airport East Logistics Center, a property developed by CORE5 Industrial Partners, per the same account.

First Kentucky Facility for the Bottling Giant

The Elsmere plant marks Niagara's first facility in Kentucky, a milestone the company's grand-opening coverage emphasized as a vote of confidence in the region. Niagara Bottling executive vice president Brian Hess said the new facility reflects the company's confidence in Northern Kentucky and its future, according to the same report. Niagara is headquartered in Diamond Bar, California, and operates more than 30 manufacturing plants worldwide that produce its various water and tea brands, per the Manufacturing Dive report.

The project was initially announced in September 2024, with construction beginning in early 2025, the NKyTribune account notes. BE NKY Growth Partnership led efforts to locate the new production facility in Elsmere, according to the port authority, which did not elaborate on the parties involved in bringing the project to the site.

Part of a Broader Expansion Pattern

The Elsmere opening follows a string of similar investments by Niagara elsewhere in the country. Earlier in the year referenced by Manufacturing Dive's report, the company opened a $160 million manufacturing facility in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. Niagara also opened a $160 million plant in Delano, California, that employed 58 workers at the time and was expected to add 62 jobs once construction wrapped, the outlet reported. In Winter Haven, Florida, Niagara has planned a $422 million facility spanning 1.45 million square feet that is expected to create 100 jobs, per the same source.

The Elsmere investment also lands amid a broader manufacturing push in Kentucky. In 2025, manufacturing accounted for $9.3 billion in new investment and more than 7,500 full-time jobs for Kentuckians, representing nearly 90 percent of all corporate investment announced in the commonwealth that year, according to the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, which added that manufacturing growth has continued into 2026. The cabinet also notes that since 2020, the state has announced more than 250 food and beverage projects totaling roughly $9.2 billion in investment and nearly 10,000 announced jobs.
