The CBS6 Morning Team swapped the studio for a night of screams at Double M Haunted Hayrides in Ballston Spa, and the chainsaws did not go easy on them. Flashing lights, zombies and a Headless Horseman all got their turn, and a final chainsaw scare capped the outing.

According to WRGB, the crew got into the spirit with a trip to one of the Capital Region's spookiest attractions. The morning crew faced eerie waiting rooms, flashing lights, chainsaws, zombies, and plenty of jump scares.

Indoor Frights, Then a Themed Drink

The station's report says actors made surprise appearances throughout the haunted house portion of the visit. After making it through the indoor part of the attraction, the team stopped for a themed drink before heading back out into the dark.

The outdoor leg was the haunted hayride itself, featuring zombies, Western-themed characters, the Headless Horseman and chainsaw-wielding performers. The night ended with one final chainsaw scare, the report notes.

What Double M Offers

The attraction sits at 678 Route 67 in Ballston Spa, The Saratogian reports. It says the hayride itself lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes, and the full experience runs about an hour. The paper also describes Double M as having provided terrifying thrills, immersive experiences and Halloween traditions for more than three decades.

This year's lineup is bigger than a single ride. I LOVE NY says the 2026 season, which kicked off on Saturday, September 19, offered six terrifying attractions, including the hayride, Blood Moon Farm and four haunted houses. The regular general admission price was $44.95 plus fees and taxes, according to the same listing, which notes the operation was founded in 1991.

Family-Run Fright Factory

Double M says on its website that it has been creating fear for 36 years in Upstate New York. Last year, Saratoga TODAY described the family-run operation's growth, noting that one haunted house was joined by six more and that 50 employees eventually became 140.

Before You Go

Anyone planning a visit should book ahead, since Double M's reservations page states that reservations are required and can be made online or by phone. The attraction is not recommended for children under 10.

The same page warns guests about darkness, low visibility, strobe lights, fog, and audio and visual disturbances, and it calls for appropriate attire and footwear. It also states that all tickets are non-refundable and cannot be canceled for any reason.
