Richmond is starting Monday with clear skies and a chilly 43 degrees, but the city is headed for a sunny afternoon near 72. Light winds and dry conditions will make for a classic fall day once the morning chill fades.
Chilly Start Gives Way To Sunny Skies
Some areas across central Virginia may see patchy fog or frost early Monday, with a Frost Advisory posted for portions of the Piedmont through 9 a.m. Richmond itself should stay clear, and temperatures will climb steadily through the morning before peaking in the low 70s.
The National Weather Service in Wakefield expects another mostly clear night Monday, with temperatures falling to around 44 degrees. Tuesday will repeat the sunny setup, reaching about 72 with a light north wind.
Warm, Dry Weather Holds Through Halloween
The week stays remarkably rain-free through Saturday, with highs near 69 Wednesday, 73 Thursday and 76 Friday. Overnight lows will generally range from the upper 40s to low 50s, so early-morning walkers and commuters may still want a jacket even as afternoons turn pleasantly mild.
Halloween Saturday looks comfortable for outdoor plans, with partly sunny skies and a high near 74. Clouds will increase Saturday night, and Sunday brings the first meaningful rain chance of the stretch: a 26% chance of showers after 7 a.m., with a high near 71.
For now, Richmond's forecast is mostly a long run of sunglasses weather with cool starts attached. The best bet for rain-free plans is Monday through Saturday, while Sunday may call for a backup plan if those showers develop.
