Raleigh is waking up Sunday, October 18, to clear skies, chilly temperatures in the low 40s and a forecast that looks far more like fall than summer. Sunshine will push the afternoon high to about 63 degrees, though a brisk northeast wind could gust up to 23 mph.
The breeze will ease somewhat after sunset, but the night will stay clear and cool with a low near 45. After Saturday’s rain, the forecast turns notably calmer, with no rain expected through the week ahead, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny Weather Sticks Around Raleigh
Monday will bring more sunshine and a high near 67, followed by a warmer Tuesday topping out around 72. North winds will remain noticeable Monday, with gusts possibly reaching 20 mph; Tuesday is not expected to have significant gusts.
Wednesday through Friday should stay mostly sunny, with highs near 69 to 71 degrees and overnight lows around 50. Saturday looks sunny as well, with a high near 69 and only a slight chance of rain.
A Crisp Start, A Comfortable Afternoon
Sunday morning’s cold start will gradually give way to pleasant sunshine, with temperatures climbing through the 50s by midday and reaching the low 60s during the afternoon. The wind may make it feel cooler in open areas, but the dry weather should be friendly for errands, outdoor dining and a walk through Raleigh’s parks.
The broader pattern is a clean fall reset after Raleigh’s recent run of unusually warm days. For now, the city gets several days of blue skies, modest daytime warming and nights that finally require a jacket.
