Clear Creek High School is set for a round of priority repairs after the district's board of trustees unanimously approved a $3.522 million construction contract this week. The work, awarded to a Houston-based contractor, is expected to wrap up by late July 2027 and covers everything from the campus dance studio to the carpet under students' feet.

Trustees signed off on the deal at their regular meeting Monday evening, according to Community Impact, which reported the contract went to Nash Industries, a Houston-based contractor. The district's public meeting calendar, maintained through Clear Creek ISD's board portal, lists the session as a regular meeting held Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.

The scope of the priority repairs includes replacing the partition at the school's dance studio, swapping out wireless microphones, and replacing carpet flooring throughout the campus, per the district's reporting. The project is funded through the district's 2023 bond, according to district documents cited in the same report.

Part of a Larger Bond-Funded Push

This isn't the first time Clear Creek ISD has leaned on its 2023 bond to fund campus upgrades. Back in January 2025, trustees approved nearly $16.2 million in construction projects, with agenda documents noting that a large bulk of those projects were also funded through the 2023 bond, the same outlet reported at the time. That earlier round of work was expected to be complete by July 31, 2025.

The bond itself traces back to a lengthy planning process. A 60-member citizen committee identified more than $600 million in district improvements, new equipment and technology as priorities, according to the Houston Chronicle. Among the committee's stated priorities were what the district labeled Priority 1 repairs and replacements, including life-safety items and school buses.

Aging Campuses Driving the Work

District officials have pointed to the age of some facilities as a driver behind the ongoing repair push. The Houston Chronicle reported that some CCISD schools are approaching 50 years old, with some equipment having extended beyond its life cycle. That context helps explain why bond dollars keep flowing toward building-by-building fixes rather than one-time overhauls.

The 2023 bond followed a much larger measure voters approved in 2017. CCISD voters approved a $487 million bond that year, which funded a new elementary school, campus rebuilding and renovations, and infrastructure upgrades across the district, according to the Houston Chronicle's reporting.

For now, the latest contract keeps Clear Creek High School's repair timeline on a familiar track: approval in the fall, construction through the school year, and a target finish before students return the following August. District documents cited by Community Impact place that completion date at late July 2027.
