A 57-year-old Colerain Township man is facing a six-count indictment, including two counts of rape, after Hamilton County prosecutors say he sexually abused a child over several months spanning late 2025 and early 2026. Stephen Togbe was also indicted on three counts of sexual battery and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and he is being held on $4 million bond.
Court records cited by WLWT show Togbe has been charged with sexual battery, rape and unlawful sexual conduct involving a minor. The same outlet reports a Hamilton County judge set his bond at $4 million, and that Togbe denied the allegations when he appeared in court. According to WKRC, the indictment specifically includes two counts of rape and three counts of sexual battery, per court records.
Allegations Span Three Months
Prosecutors said the alleged incidents happened last October and November, as well as in January of this year, according to the same WLWT report. A separate account from fox19.com describes the allegations similarly, stating that the abuse began and then continued into November 2025 and January 2026. The details of the accusations were laid out in an affidavit filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court, the station reported.
The case is documented in Hamilton County Municipal Court records, and the alleged offenses are described as having occurred on multiple occasions between October 2025 and January 2026. Togbe's next court date has been scheduled for today, Oct. 2, according to WLWT's reporting.
Defense Cites Decades-Long Residency
Togbe's lawyers told the station he has been a legal resident of the United States for 26 years and currently works as a truck driver. That detail was presented in the context of his bond proceedings, per the same WLWT account.
What the Charges Carry Under Ohio Law
Under Ohio Revised Code Section 2907.03, sexual battery is classified as a third-degree felony when the sexual activity involved is sexual conduct, subject to the statute's other provisions. Separately, Ohio Revised Code Section 2907.04 states that, except as otherwise provided in specified divisions, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor is a fourth-degree felony. The statutes do not themselves determine the outcome of Togbe's case, and the indictment represents an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
