Columbus is starting Saturday in the mid-50s with clear conditions, but clouds will build as temperatures climb toward 75 degrees. Southeast winds will strengthen through the afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph before the weekend turns wet.
Rain Arrives Saturday Night
Rain timing has become more defined since Hoodline's earlier weekend outlook. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, showers are expected to move in late Saturday afternoon into the night, with one-half to one-and-a-half inches of rain possible across a large portion of the area.
Sunday looks like the soggiest stretch, with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms, a high near 70 and a tenth to a quarter-inch of rain possible during the day, with heavier rain expected overnight. Some storms could produce heavy rain, while winds shift direction; no watches, warnings or advisories are currently listed for the area.
Columbus Day Brings A Brief Reset
Conditions improve sharply Monday, when mostly sunny skies and a high near 80 are expected. The calmer weather may be short-lived, with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and additional rain chances Wednesday through Friday as temperatures settle from the low 80s into the upper 60s and low 70s.
