A new occupational-health clinic has opened its doors just south of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, giving Northern Virginia employers and their workers another option for same-day injury care, physical therapy and workplace drug screening. Concentra's Reagan Airport medical center sits at 3600 South Glebe Road, Suite 110, inside the Market Square-National Landing development in Arlington, and keeps weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The opening expands Concentra's presence in the greater Washington, D.C. region to more than 15 medical centers, according to a company announcement also reported by Morningstar. The new location is meant to increase access to occupational health services for employers and employees across Northern Virginia, the company said. Services on offer include work-injury care, physical therapy, Department of Transportation physical examinations, pre-placement physicals, medical surveillance, respirator fit testing, vaccinations, and drug and alcohol screening.
For eligible minor work-related injuries, the center also connects patients with Concentra Telemed, the company's virtual-care option, per the same announcement. On its own site describing the location, Concentra touts same-day injury-care appointments with no referrals needed, saying walk-in access and telemedicine mean employees can get seen when they need it most.
Arlington's Mix of Industries Drives the Pitch
Concentra is positioning Arlington as a major employment center within the broader D.C., Maryland and Virginia region, pointing to local industries including aerospace and defense, technology, government contracting, transportation and construction. Maiya LaVerdure, Concentra's senior vice president of operations for the Northeast, said the center strengthens consistent occupational health services to reduce disruption and support safe, efficient returns to work.
Dr. Richard Amegadzie, the company's senior vice president of medical operations for the Northeast, said understanding an employee's condition alongside their job demands helps clinicians make care decisions and support recovery and a safe return to work. That approach reflects how Concentra describes its broader occupational-health model: considering both an employee's medical condition and job responsibilities to guide care, recovery and return-to-work planning, according to the company's announcement.
A Longtime Customer Weighs In
CBG Building Company has been a Concentra customer for more than 15 years, the company said. Dan Blankfeld, CBG's vice president of health, safety and environment, said the Arlington location gives the firm an additional resource for workplace injuries and workforce health requirements.
Kate Bates, president and CEO of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Concentra to Arlington and said the investment adds a resource for the business community, particularly in industries where workforce health and safety are critical. The Reagan Airport clinic also offers employers digital case management through Concentra's online portal, which lets businesses view patient results, manage authorizations and track injury cases in real time, per the company's description of the location.
Part of a Broader Regional Footprint
Concentra describes itself as the largest U.S. occupational health services provider by number of locations, with roughly 13,000 colleagues and affiliated physicians and clinicians. As of June 30, the company operated 633 occupational health centers and 415 onsite health clinics at employer worksites across 46 states and the District of Columbia, supporting care for about 54,000 patients on an average business day.
The Arlington opening follows a similar move in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where Concentra opened a larger clinic with more exam rooms to meet demand, replacing an older nearby site, according to the Washington Business Journal. For employers navigating a workplace injury in Virginia, the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission notes that its First Report of Injury form is used to notify either the Commission or the relevant insurance carrier or claim administrator, depending on coverage.
