A vehicle collision with entrapment shut down College Park Road near Treeland Drive in Berkeley County Sunday morning, prompting a multi-agency fire response as crews worked to free those trapped inside. Officials had not released information on whether anyone was injured.

The C&B Fire Department responded to the crash, according to WCBD News 2, which reported that College Park Road near Treeland Drive was blocked while emergency crews worked at the scene. South Berkeley Fire and Rescue also responded to the incident, the station noted.

The stretch of road has seen trouble before. The College Park Road and Treeland Drive area has also seen fatal consequences. A two-vehicle collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. at Treeland Drive and College Park Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, as reported by ABC News 4. The Berkeley County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 17-year-old Grace I. Segovia of Moncks Corner.

Segovia, the sole occupant of a Chevrolet involved in the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two occupants of the other vehicle, a BMW, were taken to the hospital, according to that report. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
