Richmond is waking up to clear skies and a chilly 41 degrees Sunday morning, but sunshine will push the temperature near 60 by afternoon. A north wind around 7 to 12 mph will keep the day feeling crisp, with no rain in sight.
Clear Skies, Chilly Night
Sunday night stays clear as temperatures fall to around 43 degrees in the city. The breeze should keep frost from forming, even as areas west of Interstate 95 turn colder, according to the National Weather Service.
Warmup Arrives Tuesday
Monday brings another sunny day with a high near 63 and north winds that could gust to 22 mph. Temperatures climb further Tuesday, reaching about 69 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
The dry pattern continues through Saturday, with afternoon highs generally in the mid-to-upper 60s and rain chances staying below 10%. Overnight lows will mostly land in the upper 40s to lower 50s, so outdoor plans may call for layers in the morning and lighter clothing by afternoon.
Coastal Weather Turns Rougher
Richmond should avoid the worst of the region's weather, but conditions become more unsettled near the coast Monday through Wednesday. Stronger northeast winds, high surf and coastal flooding concerns are focused around Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach and the lower Chesapeake Bay.
