Workplace furniture provider CultureSpace is planting a bigger flag in East Austin, with plans to open a roughly 12,000-square-foot showroom at 1645 E. Sixth St., Suite 125, by the first quarter of 2027. The new space is set to become the company's primary Austin showroom, taking over that role from its existing North Austin location.

CultureSpace's current Austin showroom, an approximately 10,000-square-foot space at 2023 Denton Drive in North Austin, will keep operating as a North Austin option and product-display space even after the East Sixth Street location opens, according to Bisnow. The company describes the East Austin move as putting it closer to many of its clients and partners, with the new site offering what it calls a more central and convenient place to bring people together.

Brent Warrilow, president of CultureSpace, framed the expansion as a bet on the city itself. He said CultureSpace sees significant opportunity for continued growth in Austin, and that the new showroom will let clients experience furniture firsthand and compare options to understand how different settings could work in their own workplace, per the same report.

What the New Showroom Will Look Like

The East Sixth Street location is being designed as a working environment rather than a static display floor, meant for evaluating workplace furniture, technology, fabrics, finishes and work settings. Plans call for open-plan workstations, meeting rooms, collaborative spaces and focused-work areas, all intended to show how products and workplace settings can be combined and adapted to support employees, culture and daily operations.

A design studio within the showroom will feature tunable lighting for comparing finishes, colors, materials and textures, and it will simulate daylight and typical office lighting conditions. The idea, per the Bisnow report, is to help clients assess how their selections might actually look once installed in their own workplace rather than guessing from samples alone.

The Team Behind the Build-Out

CultureSpace partnered with Ted Rohan of Avison Young for tenant representation on the deal, with Rohan saying East Sixth Street is near clients and project partners and is a practical place to review options in person. Seth Stuart of Aquila Commercial represented the listing side of the real estate transaction, according to the release.

The showroom's design work is being handled by Studio Ambros and S Tipton Studio, while Ryan Morrow of Prevail Contracting is providing project management services. C I Brooks Construction, which describes itself as focused on elevating commercial interior construction services in Central Texas, is serving as general contractor on the build-out.

Part of a Broader Texas Footprint

CultureSpace already operates showrooms in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, and describes itself as a workplace furniture and solutions provider for organizations across Texas and beyond. Its services include workplace consulting, furniture selection, layout and 3D visualization, and project management, delivery and installation, the kind of full-service offering it also details on its own site for professional-services clients, covering everything from product selection to installation scheduling and final follow-through.

The Austin expansion follows a similar move in Houston, where CultureSpace is adding about 3,000 square feet to bring that showroom to roughly 18,000 square feet, citing 30% year-over-year growth in the Houston market over four years, according to Community Impact. That expansion is adding new product displays, interactive technology, expanded hospitality areas and a larger dedicated focus on medical furniture and healthcare environments. CultureSpace, which started as a family-owned business in 1983, has not disclosed grand-opening details for the Austin showroom, saying only that additional information will be announced once the space is complete.
