Culver's is aiming to open its newest Central Ohio restaurant in Hilliard's Mill Run neighborhood during the final week of December, bringing the butter burger and frozen custard chain to a stretch of Fishinger Boulevard once occupied by a hair salon. The timeline, however, comes with a caveat from the operator overseeing the project.
The Culver's of Mill Run will open at 3610 Fishinger Boulevard, the former home of Kenneth's Hair Salon and Day Spas, according to NBC4 WCMH-TV. Dan Massoglia, a partner in Meyer Foods, described the end-of-year opening as a target date he hopes will hold if everything falls into place. Indiana-based Meyer Foods Management will operate the Hilliard restaurant as the franchisee.
Massoglia is no stranger to the local market. He already operates Culver's locations at Hamilton Quarter in New Albany and on Rentra Drive in the Hilliard Green neighborhood, and the outlet's report notes he grew up in Newark and has lived in the Columbus area for 25 years.
A Building With History on Fishinger Boulevard
The site taking shape as the new restaurant has its own backstory. The former salon building was constructed in 1994 and contains roughly 17,400 square feet on a two-acre property, per Franklin County property records cited in the station's report. Kenneth's moved from the Fishinger Boulevard property to the TruePointe development near Interstate 270 and Cemetery Road, clearing the way for Culver's to move in.
Meyer Foods Management says on its own locations page that it owns and operates 38 Culver's restaurants across Indiana, Ohio and Georgia. That count differs slightly from the figure cited in the station's report, which describes Meyer Foods as operating more than 35 Culver's locations across the same three states.
Central Ohio's Butter Burger Build-Out Continues
The Mill Run project is just one piece of a much larger push into the region. Restaurants opened in Canal Winchester, Heath and Lancaster over the summer, and the chain has at least five more Central Ohio locations in development or planned, the same NBC4 report notes. Meyer Foods is behind planned locations at 1452 N. Cassady Avenue near John Glenn Columbus International Airport and at 1000 E. Dublin Granville Road near Worthington.
A separate NBC4 report on the broader expansion adds that plans are also underway for a location at 4600 E. Broad Street in Whitehall, along with the Dublin Granville Road site near Worthington. The north Columbus project is expected to include a drive-thru and would redevelop part of the parking lot in front of Space Shop Self Storage, according to that report.
Culver's other Central Ohio locations already serve Marysville, Reynoldsburg and Powell, in addition to the Hilliard Green restaurant Massoglia operates. The chain also has a location marked coming soon at 259 Salvation Way in Lancaster, on a previously undeveloped site.
Recent Openings Show the Pace of Growth
The chain's recent opening history in the region gives a sense of how quickly new locations have been landing. Culver's opened a restaurant at 833 S. 30th Street in Heath on Aug. 3, and another at 6480 Gender Road in Canal Winchester in June. A location at 6000 Old Hamilton Road in the Hamilton Quarter shopping center began welcoming customers on Dec. 8, according to a separate NBC4 report.
The Central Ohio buildout fits into a much bigger national growth story for the Wisconsin-based chain. Culver's plans to add six additional locations in Ohio this year, part of a nationwide push detailed by BizTimes. The chain finished 2025 with 1,041 locations across 26 states after adding 45 restaurants and closing one, and it reported $337.7 million in total operating revenue for the year, a 13.1% jump from 2024.
For now, Hilliard shoppers and commuters along Fishinger Boulevard will have to wait and see whether the pieces come together in time for a late-December debut. Massoglia's own words leave room for the date to shift, but the broader trend lines suggest Culver's isn't slowing its march across Central Ohio anytime soon.
