CupcakKe is set to take the stage at The Plaza Live in Orlando on Tuesday at 8 p.m., bringing her raunchy, technically sharp rap style back to a city that has seen her career take some unexpected turns over the years. Tickets for the show are running between $49 and $70.17.
The Chicago rapper, known for her cult following and unapologetically explicit lyrics, is expected to perform newer material alongside songs including CPR, Deepthroat and Squidward Nose, according to Orlando Weekly. Her shows are known for blending off-the-cuff comedy with direct crowd interaction, a combination that has helped her build a devoted fan base over the years. The Plaza Live listing for the event, found at The Plaza Live, marks the show 18+ and confirms the October 13 date and 8 p.m. start time.
The concert is promoted by AEG Presents and ticketed through AXS, according to listings on axs.com. CupcakKe's 2025 release, The Bakkery, incorporates dance and house elements, a sonic shift that fans attending Tuesday's show may hear reflected in the set.
A History With Orlando Stretches Back Years
This isn't CupcakKe's first rodeo in Central Florida. She made Orlando her only Florida stop on her 2018 Eden Tour and later played Orlando Pride Weekend, according to Orlando Weekly.
In 2023, CupcakKe was scheduled to perform at Tuffy's Music Box in Sanford on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 7 p.m., with support from local raunch-rap act Luscious Lisa, the outlet reported. The date lines up almost exactly with this year's Plaza Live show, both falling on October 13.
A Retirement Announcement Made From an Orlando Hotel Room
CupcakKe's relationship with retirement has been anything but straightforward. Back in 2019, during a prior Orlando visit, she announced her retirement from live performance, only to return to touring and releasing music in the years since, per Orlando Weekly's reporting.
More dramatically, she made an emotional announcement on Instagram Live from an Orlando hotel room hours before a scheduled show at The Social, saying at the time, “So the tour is off,” referring to her 23-city $10K Tour — named for a promotion in which she planned to give away $10,000 in cash to fans. During that same announcement, she said she wanted to stop making music because she felt she was corrupting children who attended her all-ages shows, telling fans, “I feel as though I'm corrupting them with my songs.” She also said she had lost $700,000 gambling at a casino the previous September.
Born in Chicago, Known Worldwide
CupcakKe, a Chicago rapper, has built a career on technically sharp rhymes and a devoted cult following. Her Tuesday show at The Plaza Live, located at 425 N. Bumby Ave. in Orlando, brings her back to a city she has played before.
Fans elsewhere have had their own chances to catch CupcakKe recently. She was also scheduled to perform at Ozark Music Hall in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on October 14, with doors opening at 7 p.m., according to NWA Homepage. General admission for that show was listed at $39.53 per person, with platform table seating available by reservation, at a venue formerly known as JJ's Live that holds more than 2,000 people.
