Dallas is waking Friday, October 23, to clear skies and temperatures around 60, but the calm morning is a prelude to a sunny 85-degree afternoon. Rain is not on the local forecast, and the weekend stays warm enough to make October feel like it forgot the calendar.
The National Weather Service expects sunny skies Friday, with southeast winds of 0 to 10 mph. Temperatures should climb from the upper 50s and low 60s early to the mid-80s by midafternoon, with the warmest stretch arriving between roughly 2 and 5 p.m.
Ozone Alert Adds A Footnote To The Sunshine
Friday’s heat and light winds coincide with a Dallas-Fort Worth Ozone Action Day. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is urging residents to help limit pollution by sharing rides, avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy and keeping vehicles properly tuned.
Friday night should remain mostly clear, with a low near 60 and southeast winds around 5 mph. Saturday brings another high near 85 under mostly sunny skies, followed by a partly cloudy night with a low around 63.
Small Cooldown, Low Rain Chances Next Week
Sunday turns partly sunny with a high near 82, then highs are expected to be in the upper 70s and lower 80s early to midweek. Low rain chances could develop in western forecast zones late Monday or Tuesday.
The weather pattern could become more active late next week, with the National Weather Service noting that Thursday and Friday may bring the area’s next more meaningful chances for showers and thunderstorms. Until then, Dallas is looking at a long run of dry, warm days with only a modest step down from the weekend heat.
