Dallas is waking Wednesday to a cloudy, muggy start before temperatures surge toward 93 degrees. Heat-index values could approach 100 degrees, and a 10% chance of showers or thunderstorms is forecast Wednesday, but the odds remain low, so most of the city should stay dry.
Southerly flow is expected, with sustained aviation winds of about 11.5 to 15 mph. The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas expects any showers or storms to remain spotty before skies turn partly cloudy Wednesday night, with temperatures settling near 72.
Thursday Brings One More Hot Day
Thursday will be sunny and still warm, with a high near 91 degrees. A strong cold front is expected to move through Thursday evening or overnight, with better storm chances west of Dallas and little or no rain likely for many neighborhoods in the city.
Friday Brings A Windy Weather Whiplash
By Friday, the high should fall to around 71 degrees while north winds run 15 to 25 mph and gust as high as 40 mph. Residents with patio furniture, decorations or other loose outdoor items should secure them before the front arrives.
Friday night will be mostly clear and much cooler, with a low around 52. Saturday looks sunny near 70 degrees, Sunday reaches about 76, and temperatures rebound into the low 80s early next week.
