Dallas is starting Monday clear and warm, with temperatures around 73 degrees early and an afternoon high near 91. The heat index could reach 97, while southerly winds build through the day and occasionally gust to 25 mph.
The mostly sunny setup comes with no watches, warnings or advisories listed for the area. According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth, rain chances stay low Monday, but the combination of heat, humidity and wind will make it feel more like summer than mid-October.
Tuesday Brings The Week’s Worst Heat
Tuesday looks even hotter, with partly sunny skies and a high near 95. Heat index values could reach 101, and south winds of 10 to 15 mph may gust as high as 25 mph.
Anyone planning outdoor work or exercise should aim for the cooler morning or evening hours, take regular breaks and drink plenty of water. Overnight temperatures will offer little relief, with lows around 77 degrees Tuesday night.
Storm Chances Return Wednesday
Rain chances may increase Wednesday, with possible showers in Dallas. The high will still reach about 93.
Thursday brings a 40% chance of rain and a high near 88. The unsettled pattern is expected to continue into Thursday night, when temperatures fall to around 65.
Cold Front Brings A Real Weekend Reset
A cold front should arrive Friday, bringing more showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., followed by partly sunny skies. Friday night could drop to about 58.
The cooldown deepens Saturday, with a high near 72 before temperatures fall to roughly 56 overnight. Sunday rebounds slightly to a pleasant 74 degrees, a sharp change from the heat building across Dallas now and the earlier Hoodline forecast.
