Damien Rice is bringing his breakout album O back to Los Angeles a quarter-century after it first landed, with the Irish singer-songwriter set to play the Greek Theatre on May 25, 2027. It's the only West Coast date on a sprawling 25-city tour built around the record's silver anniversary, and tickets for most stops go on presale next week.
The tour announcement, reported by Hot Press on October 16, 2026, lays out a run that kicks off in Australia in February 2027 before continuing on to Asia, Europe, the UK, South America and North America. Rice's Los Angeles stop is one of three U.S. shows on the itinerary, alongside performances in Chicago and New York, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.
Those North American dates include a stop at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre on May 11 and a show at Brooklyn's Kings Theatre on May 21, as Hot Press reports, before Rice arrives at the Greek Theatre on May 25. Fans can register for presale access ahead of most shows, with sales set to begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, Hot Press reports. General ticket sales for Rice's two Dublin shows at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, though the available reporting does not spell out a Los Angeles-specific ticketing timeline.
How O Became a Modern Folk Touchstone
Released in February 2002, O turned Rice into one of the era's most quietly influential songwriters. The album featured the hit singles “The Blower's Daughter,” “Cannonball” and “Delicate,” according to RTE, and featured singer Lisa Hannigan and cellist Vyvienne Long. The record was written, recorded and produced at home, with help from Rice's second cousin, composer David Arnold, according to Australian Musician.
O went on to win the Shortlist Prize for Artistic Achievement in Music, an award given to albums that sold fewer than 500,000 copies, RTE notes. The irony is that O eventually exceeded that modest threshold, later earning Gold certification in the United States with sales of 650,000 copies, per the same report. The station also notes that Ed Sheeran has often cited the album as a huge influence on his early work, and that “The Blower's Daughter” and “Cannonball” have since clocked up hundreds of millions of Spotify streams, as Hot Press reports.
The Rest of the World Tour
Rice's Australian leg opens with a performance at Melbourne's Hamer Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2027, followed by two nights at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 11 and 12, according to Australian Musician. From there the tour continues through Asia and Europe before reaching Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for the two shows on March 21 and 22.
By the time Rice reaches Los Angeles in late May, the Greek Theatre show will cap a tour arc that's carried O across five continents. A Ticketmaster listing for the Greek Theatre date shows some inconsistency in its displayed scheduling information, though multiple published reports identify the concert date as May 25, 2027.
