Boots & Booze is scheduled to begin a phased opening in Deep Ellum on Friday, October 23. Its first phase will bring a walk-up coffee and sandwich window, an outdoor courtyard bar, and a working wedding chapel to 3014 Main Street. The concept comes from Dallas-based Wush Hospitality Group, across the street from Terry Black's Barbecue.
According to CultureMap Dallas, the first phase includes three distinct pieces: the window walk-up kitchen, the courtyard outdoor bar and gathering space, and the Shotgun wedding chapel. Co-founder Sherry Hazrati said the goal is to make the venue a place guests return to for everyday visits as well as special occasions. The small commercial building the operation occupies measures 1,083 square feet and previously housed walk-up food stands including Monkey King Noodle Co., according to Movoto.
Breakfast Sandwiches, Honey Chicken and a Frozen Old Fashioned
The Window will serve coffee and breakfast on weekdays beginning at 6:30 a.m.; weekend brunch starts at 11 a.m., CultureMap reported. The menu shifts over the day, with examples including a crispy potato and egg sandwich at breakfast and a golden honey chicken breast sandwich, double onion chopped beef sandwich and Main Street Philly at lunch.
Dinner offerings include chicken and crispy potatoes, with an after-hours potatoes option for late-night diners. Weekend brunch brings hot honey chicken french toast and shareable brunch boards, alongside lighter and gluten-free choices. Drinks range from coffee and sodas to cocktails, wine and beer. One featured drink is the Cold Fashioned, a frozen old fashioned made with Still Austin whiskey, according to the same report.
A Courtyard Stage and a Functional Wedding Chapel
The courtyard is planned as a flexible gathering space, with a bar, stage and seating for casual visits and live entertainment. The Shotgun chapel is intended for ceremonies and other pageantry throughout the year, CultureMap reported.
Couples eyeing a spontaneous Deep Ellum wedding should note Texas law first. Under the Texas Family Code, couples generally must wait 72 hours after obtaining a marriage license before a ceremony; exceptions include a judge's waiver, active military status, certain Department of Defense workers, and completion of an eligible premarital education course. For details, see the Dallas County court's marriage-ceremony information.
Marriage-license timing
For couples planning a ceremony, the Dallas County Clerk's Office says completing Twogether in Texas premarital counseling reduces the marriage-license fee by $60 and waives the 72-hour waiting period.
The Team Behind Wush Hospitality Group
Wush Hospitality Group was founded in 2023, and its co-founders include Hazrati and David Alex Owusu. Hazrati and Jehangir bring more than 41 years of combined experience across hospitality operations, VIP services and entertainment, according to the company's own Wush Hospitality Group background. Hazrati has more than 20 years of experience developing and consulting on entertainment spaces, while Jehangir, the company's COO, has overseen openings including Hyde and The Pinky Ring at Las Vegas's Bellagio, per CultureMap's reporting. Owusu, the third co-founder, brings a background in video production and technology and owns his own production company.
Scratch Kitchen Still to Come, Led by a Familiar Dallas Chef
Beyond the first phase, Wush Hospitality Group plans to expand with a Boots & Booze scratch kitchen, a full-service restaurant that will be led by executive chef José Luis Rodriguez Perez. No details or opening date for the scratch kitchen have been announced. Rodriguez Perez previously owned Mixtitos Kitchen, a Mexican-Japanese fusion eatery in East Dallas that landed on regional top-restaurant lists before closing in May 2024 due to lease and revenue challenges, as reported by WFAA.
Opening Into a Neighborhood in Flux
Boots & Booze arrives as Deep Ellum works through both a wave of business turnover and a tightening safety and permitting landscape. Long-standing establishments including the 10-year brewpub Dot's Hop House and Main Street sports bar KANVAS Sport + Social both closed in 2026, part of a broader shakeup Hoodline previously reported. At the same time, newer concepts keep arriving, including Queen's Head Pub, a 6,000-square-foot English-style pub at 2713 Elm Street with a 2,000-square-foot rooftop patio built around match-day crowds and live music.
The Deep Ellum Community Safety Plan 2.0 calls for an added shift of eight Dallas Police Department officers and proposes revised nighttime entertainment permitting. A dedicated Deep Ellum Task Force recorded more than 550 arrests in 2025.
What the safety plan says
The plan calls for an added shift of eight Dallas Police Department officers. On permitting, the Lakewood/East Dallas Advocate reported that Safety Plan 2.0 assigns the city to enact an entertainment-permit policy as an action item, not an already enacted requirement. The report does not give a date for enactment.
