A deer tore through the parking lot of a Winston-Salem laundromat, slammed into a woman who had just stepped outside, and then crashed through the building's window before scrambling over the washing machines to escape. Nobody was seriously hurt in the chaotic encounter at The Wishy Washy Laundry on South Main Street.
Security footage captured the deer sprinting through the lot and running into the woman just as she left the business, according to WRAL. The animal then barreled into the laundromat itself, crashing through a window and climbing onto the machines before escaping back out through the broken glass, as reported by WXII12.
Corey Pendergrass, owner of The Wishy Washy Laundry, said he's grateful nobody was seriously injured in the melee. The woman who was struck by the deer drove away shortly after it happened, per the same account from the station.
Window Repaired Within Hours
Cleanup didn't take long. Pfaf's Glass repaired the shattered window just a couple of hours after the deer smashed through it, allowing the business to get back on track the same day.
Beyond the immediate scramble inside the laundromat, the incident appears to have wrapped up almost as quickly as it began, with the broken glass fixed and the business returning to normal well before the day was out.
