Tucson’s Monday is not expected to be a full-day washout. Spotty showers and thunderstorms are possible this morning, with the better chance arriving from late morning through afternoon as temperatures climb to about 85 degrees.
Monday’s Storm Chance Peaks This Afternoon
The forecast puts rain chances around 40% Monday, with showers and thunderstorms most likely between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. A storm could still produce a brief downpour or a gusty burst.
The National Weather Service in Tucson says some storms could be frisky, especially east of Tucson, with gusts up to 40 mph and brief heavy rain. No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for the area Monday morning, but drivers and outdoor plans should be ready for quick changes.
Warm Through Wednesday, Wetter Midweek
Tuesday warms to near 90 degrees with only a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. Wednesday stays warm near 89 degrees, but rain chances rise to 50%, and the evening carries a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Thursday brings another chance of precipitation. The forecast discussion says brief heavy rain is the main concern Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, particularly northeast of Tucson, so low-lying routes and outdoor events may need a backup plan.
Sunny Skies Return Friday
Storm chances fade sharply Friday, when Tucson is expected to be sunny with a high around 74 degrees. The weekend looks calmer: sunny and near 78 Saturday, then sunny and near 82 Sunday, with overnight lows dipping into the 50s.
That is a notable shift from a humid, unsettled start to the week to cooler, drier desert weather by Friday. The earlier Hoodline forecast outlined the same stormy-week setup, while this update sharpens the timing and raises the midweek rain threat.
