Dolce & Gabbana is expected to open a new location at The Domain, setting up shop in suite 128 at 11600 Century Oaks Terrace in the heart of Austin's luxury retail corridor. A filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation points to a $1.5 million renovation project at the address, though the Italian fashion house hasn't said when its doors will actually open.
According to Community Impact Newspaper, the renovation tied to the planned storefront was expected to wrap up in September 2026, per the filing. The opening date, however, has not been determined, the outlet reports, leaving Austin shoppers to watch the storefront without a firm timeline for when they'll be able to walk in.
Founded in 1985 by designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the brand has built its name on ready-to-wear clothing, handbags, accessories and cosmetics, offering pieces for women, men and children alongside footwear and beauty items like perfumes, makeup and skincare products. The planned Austin storefront would sit along a stretch of Century Oaks Terrace where the retailer's would-be neighbors include Gucci, Burberry, Balenciaga and Versace.
A Luxury Corridor Still Growing
The Domain's roster already runs deep on Century Oaks Terrace, where many of the center's luxury retailers have clustered. Community Impact reported in October 2024 that the property counted 120 restaurants and retail stores overall, with 35 exclusive to the Austin market and 14 either operating as or planned as luxury retailers.
That buildout has come alongside broader property upgrades. The same Community Impact report noted that renovations across The Domain were slated to continue through 2024 and 2025, including new green space and building facade updates, with Century Oaks Park set to add 22,200 square feet of green space and Agave Park another 5,857 square feet. Those upgrades followed an earlier phase of work that, per CultureMap Austin, was expected to finish by the end of October 2023.
Several of the center's current tenants hold outsized status in the market. Gucci, Tiffany and Co. and Saint Laurent are currently the only Austin-area locations for those brands, Community Impact has reported, while CultureMap Austin has described Versace and Burberry's Domain stores as those brands' only current brick-and-mortar locations in the city. Balenciaga, meanwhile, opened its first freestanding Austin store at The Domain, according to WWD, in a 6,137-square-foot space stocked with men's and women's ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear and jewelry.
Dolce & Gabbana's Texas Expansion
Austin wouldn't be the brand's first Texas stop in recent years. Dolce & Gabbana opened a shop at The Galleria in Houston in late January 2024, landing on the second level of the retail center between Galleria Financial Center and Neiman Marcus, Community Impact reported at the time.
The brand has also been expanding in San Antonio, where it's setting up a 3,600-square-foot boutique at Shops at La Cantera at 15900 La Cantera Parkway, according to CultureMap San Antonio. That location will mark San Antonio's first standalone Dolce boutique, the outlet reported, even though the brand already runs an in-store shop at Saks Fifth Avenue in North Star Mall. Construction on the La Cantera store was expected to wrap up in October, per Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project details cited by CultureMap San Antonio.
Whether Austin's version lands on a similar timeline remains unclear. For now, the only confirmed details are the address, the price tag on the renovation, and a cluster of high-end neighbors already lining Century Oaks Terrace.
