Friday's forecast calls for a chance of rain and a high near 70. The bigger weather story is still ahead: rain chances increase Saturday, with the steadiest stretch expected Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Friday Stays Cloudy With Spotty Rain
Friday carries a 40% chance of rain, with southwest winds around 5 mph. Rainfall should stay below a tenth of an inch during the day, while Friday night brings a 50% chance of showers and temperatures dipping to about 59 degrees.
Wettest Weather Arrives Saturday Night
Saturday has a 40% chance of rain, rising to 90% Saturday night. The National Weather Service says the main part of the storm should arrive Saturday evening into Sunday morning, when rainfall could total roughly a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch around Los Angeles.
Showers should be steadier than stormy, but forecasters say an isolated thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out, particularly farther south. Sunday's forecast calls for rain mainly before 11 a.m. and a high near 68.
Coastal Flooding Possible Through Friday Afternoon
A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect through 2 p.m. Friday for parts of the Los Angeles-area coast. Very high tides of roughly 7.2 to 7.5 feet could cause shallow flooding on harbor walkways, beach parking lots and bike paths, especially in vulnerable coastal locations.
Sunshine Returns Monday
The weather takes a sharp turn Monday, when Los Angeles is forecast to be sunny with a high near 75. Tuesday should be even warmer at around 76. Cloudy conditions are forecast Wednesday or Thursday.
