A blow-dry-only salon chain is setting up shop in west McKinney, with Drybar planning to open a 2,000-square-foot location at 8251 Eldorado Parkway, Suite 101, inside the Eldorado Neighborhood Shops. The salon will skip haircuts and color altogether, focusing instead on washing, drying and styling services.

No Scissors, Just Suds and Blow Dryers

Drybar's model has stayed consistent since the brand launched in 2010 around a single-service blowout concept, according to whatnow.com. As the outlet put it, the chain's pitch is simple: “No cuts. No color. Just a professional wash and blowout.” The McKinney location follows that same playbook, with the company's website noting that add-ons such as hair masks and scalp massages, plus a menu of styling options, round out the service list, as reported by Community Impact.

The McKinney build-out is grounded in paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which Community Impact used as the basis for its reporting. Per that filing, renovation work on the space is expected to cost $225,000, with construction set to begin in October 2026 and wrap up by December 2026. A separate TDLR project tied to the evidence, Project TABS2026009751, was registered on Jan. 11, 2026, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Targeting an Early November Debut

Franchisees Sarah and Tim Atkinson are eyeing the first weeks of November 2026 for the McKinney opening, though that timeline depends on how construction progresses, the station's report notes. The couple already operates two Drybar locations, having opened their first in Abilene in 2023 before following up with a Lubbock shop in 2024. McKinney will mark their third, and they've already got a fourth in the pipeline — a Denton location planned for late 2027 or early 2028, per the same account.

Drybar already has a presence across North Texas, with existing Dallas-Fort Worth locations in Allen, Plano, Prosper, Grapevine and Dallas, according to Community Impact. The Prosper shop appears in the publication's own reporting, where it's referenced in a photo caption tied to the brand's local footprint. Another Drybar expansion has been in motion nearby at the Gates of Prosper, where franchise owner Stephanie A. Parker told Community Impact that location was targeting an Aug. 7 opening, contingent on final inspections and permitting.

Community Impact reports that it will update its coverage of the McKinney salon as more information becomes available.
