A woman from the Eagle Springs area died Wednesday afternoon after the Ford F-150 she was driving alone rolled over near West End, authorities say. The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. near the intersection of Beulah Hill Church Road and Dormie Drive, and the driver was thrown from the vehicle as it flipped multiple times.
According to Sandhills Sentinel, the woman was identified as Angela Rouse. The outlet's report states she was 61 years old. Rouse was the sole occupant of the truck at the time of the crash.
Sergeant Smith told the outlet that Rouse ran off the side of the road and overcorrected, which caused her to lose control of the truck. The vehicle then overturned several times before she was ejected. Smith also said Rouse was not wearing a seat belt, and that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
Road Closed As Crews Cleared Wreckage
Authorities blocked access to the crash area while they investigated the scene and cleared the wreckage, the same account notes. No further details on emergency response, road conditions, or any citations connected to the crash have been released.
The crash scene was photographed by Sandhills Sentinel reporter Melissa Schaub, whose image from Beulah Hill Church Road accompanied the outlet's initial report.
Another Moore County Fatality 138 Days Earlier
The West End crash came 138 days after another fatal wreck in northern Moore County, where a 25-year-old woman died in a head-on collision on a Friday morning, according to the State Highway Patrol as reported by The Pilot. That crash killed Madison Marie Hayes of Siler City, who was pronounced dead at the scene after driving left of center and striking a Ford pickup truck on N.C. 705 near Robbins. The collision occurred at approximately 8 a.m. near the Davis Community Center as Hayes was driving away from Robbins.
Speeding and reckless driving remain a persistent concern on North Carolina roads, where a total of 1,426 deadly crashes occurred in 2025, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. No additional information about charges, toxicology results, or Rouse's family has been made public.
