Suspect Images Released Weeks After Attack

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
The attack falls within the confines of the 9th Precinct, according to a post from X @nypdtips
, which described the clash as a verbal dispute between the 27-year-old victim and an unidentified individual that escalated into violence. The post reads in part: “🚨WANTED FOR AN ASSAULT: On Sunday, September 20, 2026, at approximately 2:30 A.M., in front of 78 East 4 Street in the confines of the 9 Precinct, an unidentified individual engaged in a verbal dispute with a 27-year-old male victim and struck him in the face with a glass.”
How To Submit A Tip
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or, for Spanish speakers, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), the station's report notes. Tips can also be submitted online through the Crime Stoppers website or sent directly to the Crime Stoppers team on X at @NYPDTips.
The NYPD Crime Stoppers Program offers rewards of up to $3,500 for anonymous information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a violent felon, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers. That reward structure applies broadly to tips called into the hotline, though it is not clear whether it would be paid out specifically in connection with this East Village case.
No arrest has been reported in the weeks since the attack, and the identity of the suspect remains unknown as police continue to rely on public tips and the newly released images to move the investigation forward.
